Few spaces capture the restless, cross-disciplinary pulse of contemporary Berlin quite like PLATTE Berlin. Since opening its doors, the concept space has consistently bypassed the traditional retail playbook, choosing instead to serve as an authentic cultural anchor where independent fashion, visual art, sound, and radical community intersect.

On September 11th, during Berlin Art Week’s collective Featured Night, PLATTE celebrated its fifth birthday with an evening that brought together over 700 friends, collaborators, and cultural voices. From everyone here at KALTBLUT: a massive Happy Birthday, PLATTE! We are endlessly proud and happy to be even a tiny part of your journey, watching you grow into an indispensable hub for our creative city.
The anniversary activation brought together three distinct creative forces deeply rooted in Berlin’s scene: fashion house Haderlump Atelier Berlin, iconic photographer Sven Marquardt, and DJ/producer Luca Eck.
Inside the space, Haderlump presented a curated edit of their signature sculptural silhouettes, contrasting sharp urban tailoring with physical materiality. In direct conversation with the garments, Sven Marquardt exhibited a focused selection of black-and-white portraits originally shot for a SLEEK editorial in December 2024. Marquardt’s instinctive, atmospheric lens met Haderlump’s garment architecture effortlessly, two visual mediums exploring identity and attitude across the very same pavement.
Soundtracking the night, Luca Eck took to the decks, channelling the energy of the city’s underground and modern queer electronic culture into a driving, immersive set that had the room packed from wall to wall.
More than just a party, the night highlighted what PLATTE has championed over the last half-decade: providing long-term infrastructure, creative dialogue, and genuine visibility to independent local talent. Here is to five incredible years of shaping the landscape, and to everything still to come.
