Galerie SLP presents The Pulse of Arrival! An Exploration of Intuition in Art

JENS JONELEIT ACT 02 2024 Galerie SLP

The Pulse of Arrival transcends traditional artistic boundaries, inviting audiences into the intimate realms of creation through the works of a collective of visionary artists. Each piece in this exhibition is born not from preconceived ideas, but from visceral sensations and rhythmic impulses that guide the creative process. The exhibition charts a serene trajectory from the inner depths of potentiality, where form lies dormant within the body and psyche, to the pivotal moment of kairos—the arrival of that form into visibility. This arrival is neither singular nor static; it is a fluid pulse threading through the work, revealing the artist’s presence as something vibrant and ephemeral.

The exhibition embodies a record of fleeting encounters, where memory, emotion, and sensation coalesce. Through actions like layering pigment or molding clay, artists create not just images, but resonances that encapsulate feeling. This collection, featuring the practices of Heloisa Corrêa, Conxi Sanes, Jens Joneleit, and others, revolutionizes the notion of authorship. It transforms creative expression into an act of attunement—a confluence of timing, material, and inner movement. Here, the self does not impose its identity; rather, it emerges, form by form, breath by breath.

About the Artists

Heloisa Corrêa (b. 1961, Brazil)
Corrêa’s artistic journey immerses itself in the tactile and intuitive dimensions of painting and sculpture. Rooted in her Brazilian heritage and experiences of migration, her work delves into the interplay of memory, landscape, and bodily sensation. Emanating from spontaneous gestures, her layered pigments and organic forms resonate with the rhythms of nature and the passage of time. Corrêa invites viewers into a space where personal and collective narratives intertwine, with her recent endeavors exploring the porous boundaries between self and environment, reflecting how identity is sculpted by both place and process.

JENS JONELEIT SCRIB 01 2024 Galerie SLP

Conxi Sanes (b. 1986, Spain)
Sanes’s multidisciplinary oeuvre is a symphony of material and gesture, awakening presence through ceramics, drawing, and installation. Embracing intuitive practices, her creative journey is guided by touch, repetition, and the quirks of chance, resulting in artworks that reference natural cycles and the quiet metamorphosis of quotidian materials. In her hands, subtle transformations in texture and structure invite contemplative engagement, urging viewers to slow down and attune themselves to the sensory experience. Her latest works foreground the interrelation of body, material, and environment, celebrating making as a meditative act.

Jens Joneleit (b. 1968, Germany)
As a multidisciplinary artist, Joneleit’s practice harmoniously intertwines painting, music, and film. With an educational background in both art and music in the United States, he has garnered international acclaim for his vibrant visuals and innovative compositions, including operas and orchestral works. His paintings, characterized by bold textures and metallic surfaces, reflect a dynamic interplay of material, rhythm, and improvisation. Drawing from his roots as a percussionist, Joneleit infuses his creations with a palpable sense of movement and immediacy, inviting the audience to engage in a multisensory experience where sound, image, and narrative converge.
