Giambattista Valli S/S 2025 Haute Couture n°28

Giambattista Valli’s haute couture shows always have a certain magic about them, and the Spring-Summer 2025 edition was no exception. An iconic aspect of this designer’s presentations is the inevitable moment when one of his signature poofy tulle dresses sweeps gracefully by the front row, a delight for fashion aficionados and influencers alike. This season, the standout in the fantastical lineup was a dreamy pastel-pink confection, adorned with a plissé bodice, a belt crowned with hyperreal fabric roses, and a voluminous skirt that seemed to float effortlessly down the narrow runway.

The collection also featured an array of gowns and coats sporting extravagant ruched skirts. These pieces resembled walking sculptures, reminiscent of ethereal cream puffs in bold hues of electric maroon, scarlet red, and soft, chalky pink.

In Valli’s world, couture is synonymous with fantasy—a notion rooted in the designer’s narrative and influences from distant lands. For Spring 2025, he draws inspiration from his Moroccan heritage, beautifully intertwining personal history with grand, unapologetic silhouettes that take centre stage, elevating the notion of couture to an art form that speaks both to the imagination and cultural richness.
