“The borders between worlds are dying, a creature emerges, the spectre of humanity adrift. Its existence unfolds in three movements, Genesis, Morphose, Morta, echoing perception, marginality and mental escapes. Her gestures are slow, her eyes sometimes absent, as if she were listening to another world, inaudible to us.”
Scarlett Rose is a Paris-based photographer and artist whose work revolves around fashion, textures, and the unreal. Her practice combines analogue and digital processes, sometimes enriched with materials such as fabric, resin, or metal. This dialogue between matter and gaze gives rise to images that are both delicate and intense, poised between fragility and strength.
Through her projects, she explores the threshold between body and mask, self and double. Fascinated by gestures and fleeting expressions that reveal what words conceal, she seeks to push the image beyond its limits to brush against the intangible: the vulnerability of a glance, the ambiguity of a texture, the dramatic force of a colour. Her work unfolds as an exploration of form and contrast, and as a quest to uncover what our intimate fictions and contradictions reveal.
