In David Lynch’s 1990 film “Wild at Heart,” lovers flee from a gang of thugs hired by the girl’s mother to kill her companion. In Sofia Coppola’s “The Virgin Suicides,” five sisters discover their femininity and experience their first sexual awakening through the boys in their neighbourhood. Today, social roles are fluid and people seem to follow their own paths, somewhat contrary to themselves and sometimes against the replicated Instagram patterns. The image becomes a reflection of what resonates in our hearts, and summer unleashes the wildness within us.
