Hold My Hand, Maggie is a powerful serie realised by creative Director and photographer Pete Lamberto. The series portrays Maggie who has over the past two years been ongoing the transition from male to female. Back then her name was Marc, born in a male body. This project depicts her journey, as well as her relationship with her husband of eight years, Jean, who has stood by her side from the moment she nervously found the courage to revealed her struggles of feeling trapped in the wrong body.
“The project and its story is especially close to me, as Jean has been my best friend for over a decade. But being a witness to this entire process has been intriguing, heartfelt and adventurous, as their decision of staying together despite the weight of this journey, proves that power of love is still alive. It has truly been an honor to see what love can overcome and embrace. This lovestory, for me, goes far beyond the understanding of normative relationship constructions, beyond gender and sexuality. “
