A KALTBLUT exclusive. The concept and photography are by Ukrainian photographer Diana Loon, created in collaboration with model Apollinariia Makarenkova. Over the past five years, Diana has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in darkness, surrealism, and a sense of otherworldliness. From intimate self-portraits to experimental scanography and vintage-inspired imagery, her work explores the space between the familiar and the uncanny, seeking to capture a haunting atmosphere of mystery, melancholy, and quiet detachment.
“Somewhere between the familiar and the unknown, a girl begins to lose the boundaries of herself. Set in an eerie, desolate landscape, Hollowfield follows a girl who has wandered into a world that feels almost familiar, yet deeply wrong. Alone among abandoned structures, open fields and still waters, she senses an unseen presence lingering around her, something ancient, something foreign, something that may have already found its way beneath her skin.
As the boundary between her body and the surrounding world begins to dissolve, strange eyes emerge across her face and hands, transforming her into both the observer and the observed. Braids trail from her garments like remnants of an unfamiliar ritual, blurring the line between adornment and transformation.
Rooted in Southern Gothic atmosphere and folk-horror imagery, Hollowfield explores the unease of losing oneself in a place beyond reality, where nature conceals an unspoken presence and the familiar becomes uncanny. It is a story of estrangement, fractured identity, and the quiet horror of no longer knowing whether the thing haunting you exists outside yourself , or has always been a part of you.”

Brands used: Dr. Martens, all other clothing pieces were sourced from second-hand and vintage stores in Stuttgart and Berlin. The skirt was customized specifically for the shoot by adding kanekalon braids.
