Finally, after much anticipation, synth-pop/rock duo Your Future Ghost is releasing their album “Impatient for the Dream.” This juicy collection contains 10 amazing songs. The 10-track album draws inspiration from what Kate describes as “finding the fun, the party, and the refuge in the chaos of a post-apocalyptic world.”
Starting with “Oh My Ghost,” the album opens with a synth-infused pop song featuring haunting vocals and incredible production, an excellent introduction to the journey ahead. Next is “We’ve Got Places,” a chill and easy-going tune that contrasts electronic sounds with acoustic guitars, creating a compelling atmosphere. Kate and Michael’s combined vocals elevate the track even further.
“I’m Like Money” is a pop song laced with intertwining synths, both alluring and enchanting, making it one of the album’s most interesting cuts. “The Only One” follows with another captivating track, leaning more into pop territory with sugary hooks and beautiful lyrics. Then comes “PRITTY.” While the previous songs were calm and easy-going, this one feels almost chaotic, more rock than anything. “PRITTY” echoes Pink’s style, but with early-2000s grit.
