Having taken the rap world by storm in the last 12 months, working with big names such as Aboogie Wit Da Hoodie, Fivio Foreign, Matt Ox, Jay Critch, Lil Mabu, Rowdy Rebel, Squidnice, and NFL star Antonio Brown, whilst also making an appearance on Hot97 – IMTHXFUTURE has become a certified rising hip-hop star Down Under. Now, following an ambitious US tour with fellow artists Lil Mabu & Sugarhill Ddot (which featured several sold-out shows), he has dropped his latest single, ‘Walking Zombie.’ The next few months will undoubtedly be massive for this impressively talented artist.
Aussie rapper IMTHXFUTURE has shared his latest single, ‘Walking Zombie,’ with the world as he continues to plot his rise to the top of the hip-hop world. IMTHXFUTURE’s latest single comes as the rap artist has capped off his busiest summer yet, touring across the US with big names like Lil Mabu & Sugarhill Ddot.
With shows from Dallas to Atlanta, Boston and Philly to Hartford, IMTHXFUTURE’s US tour offered him the opportunity to connect with new audiences (he already has a name back home in Australia) and garner new meaningful relationships within the music industry. Fans in every city were seen wearing IMTHXFUTURE merch and were eager to see him perform.

Judging by the crowd responses, social media buzz (@imthxfuture), and the uptick in streams and sales figures for his music since the tour began, it’s fair to say that IMTHXFUTURE’s US debut was triumphant.
The artist himself previously said that the tour represented a “pivotal moment in my career, as it was my official debut on American soil.” But despite the weight of expectation on his shoulders, IMTHXFUTURE made his complex brand of rap artistry look easy.
His shows were defined by hyped-up audience engagement, barrels of energy from the artist himself, and a setlist containing all of IMTHXFUTURE’s unique, well-crafted trap music.
Fans in attendance were also lucky enough to be among the first to listen to IMTHXFUTURE’s newest single, ‘Walking Zombie,’ performed live. The latest single from the young artist is one of his most engaging to date, as well as being his most quietly contemplative.
On ‘Walking Zombie,’ IMTHXFUTURE dives into the turmoil of trying to always be at the top of your game. His relentless rap flow propels the song forward as he spits bars about missing home, missing family and friends, and trying to find a connection even as he hustles hard to reach the top. He admits that other people see him as a “walking zombie” (no doubt a reference to how he might look after many sleepless nights in the studio or club) but that he’s trying his best to find balance.
The creatively directed Music Video (directed by Lil Mabu and Imthxfuture) features Lil Mabu himself and Antonio Brown and is about to hit 100,000 views on YouTube at the time of this write up.

The production of this song is as beautiful as it is subtle – the minor riffs seem to build in their intensity, and the layering creates an interesting atmospheric effect. ‘Walking Zombie’ clearly shows that IMTHXFUTURE has a strong team behind him – which bodes very well for the future (no pun intended).
IMTHXFUTURE might be “Australia’s best-kept secret,” but you can be sure he won’t stay that way long. The artist is on the cusp of breaking out – it’s surely only a matter of time.
