Chiara Borredon is an Italian photographer. Her project In Absentia is about how people deal with the absence of a specific person in their everyday lives; the empty space of the absence has been replaced by a watercolor doodle after the picture was taken and printed.
Tight hugs, the ones you feel safe in.
Simple things, such as teatime with him.
Walking with her.
The relationship I had with her.
Her. Just her, as a beautiful person.
I never get used to people leaving,
I constantly feel their absence.
Cuddling next to my dad, the days before he died.
He was a very formal grandpa, but I miss him everyday.
He was a bigger brother to me, even if he wasn’t.

That’s the only absence I feel.
