Styling by Radu-Andrei Istriteanu. “Incognito” deals with the topic of deception and camouflage. Inspired by the animal kingdom, humans can use strategies of different types for survival, predation, or protection. Many animals use a colour, that matches their environment to remain undetected, or vibrant colours to alert their opponents. Certain animals also have patterns or colours, that break up their body contours and make them difficult to be perceived. The quotation marks in the title imply a sense of irony because while the characters’ identities are not recognizable, because they are covered from head to toe, they undoubtedly stand out from their environment and thus are everything but camouflaged.

“My name is Radu-Andrei Istriteanu. I’m originally from Bucharest, Romania and moved to Munich, when I was 9. I’m now a Fashion Journalism & Communications student at the AMD, Academy of Fashion & Design, in Munich. In 2023, I switched from the Fashion Design course to the current one. I realized that I saw much more value in my work if I could contribute to the current fashion discourse, by focusing on the zeitgeist. My favourite subjects at my university include Brand Communication and Trend Research. Outside the AMD, I love working as a stylist. I am deeply fascinated by the interaction between Art and Fashion. I like to take up various points of overlap, to create something new and dramatic.”
