“One year ago I traveled to Surinam after a long time to visit my aunt and to shoot these designs I made. On the 4th day of my stay, the first Covid-19 infection in the country was diagnosed and the lockdown was immediately initiated. Unfortunately, I had to return home earlier with a repatriation flight, but the day before I left, we still managed to do a shoot with the designs I brought with me. Thanks to my aunt we could arrange everything. We formed a small team and shot these photographs right next to her house. The Bougainvillea flower symbolizes protection, spiritual connection, and peace. Something that is needed in these times.
Each suite is one of a kind and will only be reproduced in other colors and fabrics.”
