“By humorously mixing old-fashioned fabrics, colourful ornaments and hazardous product details in a maximalist, kitsch and baroque atmosphere, I wanted to make this collection and its presentation a lively entertainment.

9 months ago, I started researching the choice of fabrics. Without asking myself any questions, I rushed into the recesses of fabric stores, end-of-series and deadstock to unearth obsolete fabrics that nobody liked. I hunted jewellery in flea markets and in wardrobe sales and the details were produced in the same way, randomly, according to the wind and my desires. It was only then, and with all the elements in hand, that I was able to mix the pieces, the materials, the embroidery and the trimmings into an improbable whole.

At the same time, I declined the collection volumes.

When I was younger and spent the summer holidays with my grandparents, I took my grandfather’s old oversized jackets by hand in strategic places to adapt them to my size. I took these forms that had been invented in a naive and playful way to deduce certain pieces from the collection.
Leaving room for error and chance is an essential and singular value at KAZAK, everything is done by feeling, both during the creation of the Indian embroideries and for the choice of the colours of the shoes.
