Based in Berlin, Mary and Camilla recently launched their new community based platform to help independent sellers in the sex positive industry to reach buyers more easily, not to mention making it more fun to shop sex toys, art and queer feminist merch, knowing that it is handmade and sustainable.

“We care about gender diversity, equality, the orgasm gap, sex and body positivity. We want to empower people by providing easy access to products and services made for any gender, body and sexuality. Especially for queers and gender diverse people, navigating the world of sex toys can be frustrating and, at times, problematic. The vast majority of products on the market are overwhelmingly heteronormative and targeted towards cisgender people. It can also be hard to find products produced by independent sellers from the community, in the sea of start-ups now cashing in on branding themselves as feminist or queer.“

We started Pleazo to give our community a place to explore and be free. During this process we have only become further aware of the obstacles sex positive people face when trying to sell and advertise their products, workshops, events etc. We were shocked to find that mainstream payment gateways like PayPal, Stripe & wesbite builders like Shopify, bans anything to do with sex and pleasure. That’s why we still spend a lot of time trying to find ways around these obstacles, to create the best platform for our sellers and buyers.”

We also wanted a platform where the sale would go directly to the seller, instead of us acting like a bank they had to withdraw from. This way we make sure all sellers get their money in real time when making a sale.”

While providing safe, organic and vegan options, they also work as a start-up for sustainability. Their products are made locally, using sustainable materials while offering sellers the ability to offer local pick up to spare the environment.
