With a soft nod to classic Brazilian bossa nova and Shahana Jaffer’s trance-like vocals floating effortlessly over the song’s 3-minute-and-50-second runtime, indie band Junaco makes a graceful return to the spotlight with their new single, Find The Melody. The track oozes calm and sensuality, capturing listeners without even trying.
This is the first single off In Motion, Junaco’s upcoming album, which will be released later this year. The record took shape last winter during a voluntary retreat into the wilds of Northern California, where the band spent weeks off-grid, with no internet and minimal amenities, surrounded by silence and nature.

In that secluded setting, the band tapped into a deep well of inspiration, allowing space for reflection and creative clarity. The result is an album that stands to be Junaco’s most personal, mature, and introspective work to date.
Find The Melody is a perfect reintroduction to a group known for blurring the lines between folk, dream pop, and indie rock. The new track adds delicate brushstrokes of Brazilian rhythms, gliding gently and leaving behind a serene, contemplative aftertaste.
Junaco has worked with respected musicians including Tyler Chester (Madison Cunningham, Andrew Bird), Oliver Hill (Coco), and Omar Velasco, who all contribute to their new single, “Find The Melody.”
Their forthcoming album, In Motion, was recorded at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas, self-produced by the band and engineered by Mario Ramírez. The record was mixed by Jake Aron and mastered by Heba Kadry.
It captures a season of quiet, shaped slowly in the stillness and solitude of winter. If Find The Melody is any indication, Junaco is on the verge of its most poignant chapter yet.
