KALTBLUT’s guide to Tempelhof Sounds

From the 10th to 12th of June, Tempelhof Sounds is returning to Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport with a jam-packed line-up of some of the biggest names in music, as well as exciting newcomers. The three acts headlining the festival are Florence and the Machine, who has just released her latest critically-acclaimed album Dance Fever, Muse and The Strokes.

KALTBLUT has put together a guide with the top five most exciting artists that can’t be missed at the Berlin-based indie festival.

Freya Ridings, Friday 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM
Freya’s unique, stunning voice accompanied by her beautiful, emotional lyrics are a perfect way to kick off the festival on a Friday afternoon. She’ll be playing a 45 minute set with the most well-known songs from her debut self-titled album.

Molchat Doma, Friday 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
The Belarusian post-punk band from Minsk has been making and releasing music since 2017, but their mainstream fame came when their song “Судно (Sudno)” went viral on TikTok. Since then, the band has finally received a very well deserved influx of recognition and attention. Molchat Doma will be playing just before Florence and the Machine on the first day of the festival.

Alt-J, Saturday 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Their latest album The Dream has already been called one of the album’s of this year, following in the footsteps of their previous albums. Alt-J will be playing on Berlin’s Tempelhof Flughafen on Saturday from 6 PM for an hour, which is a set that definitely can’t be missed.

Bow Anderson, Sunday 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM
Kicking of the last day of the festival is the Scottish singer-songwriter Bow Anderson. Having released her debut single “Sweater” in 2020, the Bow has since been releasing critically-acclaimed singles, as well as a collaboration with Felix Jaehn.

Griff, Sunday 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM
The 2021 BRIT Awards Rising Star Griff will be closing the festival’s Vibration stage. Having taught herself how to produce on her brother’s computer at the young age of eleven, Griff, now 21, has since released several tracks that have gained her a solid reputation in the industry, as well as the Rising Star BRIT award last year.
