Lagos Space Programme made a captivating return to Paris with its Fall/Winter 2025 collection, “Rock & Roll Consciousness,” a bold iteration that delves deep into vulnerability, self-expression, and a refined take on the house’s signature codes.
At the helm, founder and visionary designer Adeju Thompson draws richly from his roots in Lagos, Nigeria, embracing the essence of “rock and roll consciousness” that fuses his musical passions with the raw emotional vibes of iconic acts like The Velvet Underground. This collection marks a pivotal moment for African design, offering a more introspective lens rather than the robust silhouettes often celebrated in the fashion narrative.

Notably, this season sees a daring shift in material exploration. Wool gabardine takes the spotlight, celebrated for its warmth and versatility, while the ancestral craft of àdìrẹ — the traditional Yoruba tie-and-dye technique — remains a crucial element. Thompson creatively reinterprets àdìrẹ, ingeniously infusing contemporary relevance into this age-old craft. The innovative use of post-àdìrẹ transcends mere dyeing; it embodies storytelling through fabric, illustrating intricate parallels between traditional African symbolism and the nuanced codes of queer communication.
“LSP is about embracing softness and tenderness,” Thompson articulates. “It isn’t merely a design practice founded on bold statements, but rather a quest to craft an alternative African narrative that truly resonates with emotion.”
With post-àdìrẹ, LSP aims to disrupt long-held conventions, emerging with something infinitely fresh and exhilarating from a legacy of significant storytelling. Looking ahead, Thompson envisions a future interwoven with threads of vulnerability and poetic beauty, weaving consistent narratives that resonate across both the African landscape and the global fashion stage.
