London’s pop futurist Rina Sawayama shares the video for her single ‘Alterlife’. Directed by Shane Lim, the ‘Alterlife’ video plunges Rina into the neon-hued world of a vintage Japanese karaoke booth. Working with photographer Elizabeth Lee, the clip sees Rina’s alter-egos lip sync against each other in a piece the channels the fluoro energy of nineties Japan. “The video is about finding yourself through living as different avatars”, said Rina.
‘Alterlife’ has been remixed by iconic Tokyo producer Seiho, a specialist in “neon-lit club weirdness” (FACT). The original also appears as the B-side to ‘Cyber Stockholm Syndrome’, available to purchase on 12” limited vinyl via Vinyl Factory.
