
A Letter from Leo! Designer Leo Prothmann unveiled the new F/W26 collection at London Fashion Week, and we love it. An all-gender collection. “This season, I draw inspiration from the concept of warmth, not the summer kind, but the cosy embrace found in the stillness of a cabin. CABAÑA originated during my time in San José del Pacífico, Mexico, where I was enveloped by mist and earthy hues that resonated deeply with me.”

“As I wandered through the landscape, I became aware of how buildings held colour and memory, with tones shaped by time and weather. This reflection on structure and form influenced my designs, leading to oversized silhouettes that combine clarity with a relaxed fit, blending comfort with resistance.”
Key pieces include quilted leather parkas and modular capes, crafted from offcut leather strips, showcasing both technical precision and ease of wear. The curved shoulders maintain their shape while allowing for fluid movement, achieving a balance of structure and softness.

Leather continues to be my chosen medium, paired with Nene Valley Leather’s durable materials. These garments aim for longevity, much like furniture designed to last, reflecting a sense of permanence.
The damp environment of San José del Pacífico also inspired a collaboration with Dr. Martens, resulting in a reimagined Jadon boot featuring cargo pockets, offering waterproof and breathable qualities.
Stylist Edda Gudmundsdottir played a crucial role in developing the collection’s visual language, bringing a sense of lived-in contrast. Together with Carmela Dias at the London College of Fashion, they created contour pieces and thermals that support the outer structures.
Incorporating eco-conscious materials, this season features Silverfin fish leather sourced from invasive species, emphasising sustainability. The brand’s collaboration with Cubitts led to limited-edition sunglasses that harmonise with the collection’s design language, while Ollivion’s sculptural jewellery resonates with ancient mythology, enriching the overall narrative.
