Leo Sawikin Runs Forward with Purpose on “Where I’m Running”

Leo Sawikin’s new single “Where I’m Running” is the second release from his upcoming EP “The Edge of Everything,” due early 2026. It follows the EP’s first single, “Jumping from So High,” which kicked off this new era with a surge of momentum. Produced by Phil Ek, the track was born from a riff that wouldn’t leave Sawikin’s head, and the rest came quickly. He describes it as a response to a life that feels too easy. At its core lies the question, “How do you step away from comfort without losing balance?”

The arrangement remains straightforward. Guitar drives the pace, and the mix stays tight. Sawikin steps back slightly from lead guitar duties, giving space to Vin Landolfi, which allows the structure to move more fluidly. Max Yassky’s drums hold the centre, while William Sawikin’s synths and keys add texture, roughening the edges just enough. Every element falls right into place.

There’s a hunger running through the track, not simple to escape, but to evolve. Sawikin hints at a restless dissatisfaction with the static, a pull toward something tougher, more tangible. It’s not rebellion for its own sake; it’s a search for meaning, intensity, and a life that feels deserved.

That urgency shows how quickly the song came together, Leo says. Its immediacy, that instinctive burst of creation, mirrors the impulse at its heart, the one that says when it’s time to move, you move.

At its core, the song grapples with the pull between staying in a familiar, safe environment and pursuing something uncertain yet potentially more rewarding. It’s less about physical movement than about emotional and existential unrest, that timeless human struggle between comfort and growth. Leo frames it through the eyes of someone who could stay, but refuses to.

His previous album, “Till You’re Somebody Else”, made a strong impression. The title track reached #1 on Mediabase’s A/C Independent Artists Chart and climbed to #26 on Billboard’s AC Chart. “The Same Mistakes” became his most-streamed song, with listeners tuning in from the U.S., U.K., Brazil, and Indonesia. Alongside this streaming growth, Sawikin has built solid traction on YouTube, where his channel has amassed thousands of subscribers and over 600k cumulative views. The reach expanded, but the tone remained intimate.
