Created in Greensboro, North Carolina, to serve the needs of ranch hands and rodeo riders, Wrangler soon became the uniform of the growing youth movement of the 1950s and 1960s. For 75 years, Wrangler has dressed riders, rock stars and risk-takers, and has always stayed true to its pioneering roots and drawn inspiration from those who live by their own rules.
To honour that history, Wrangler’s year-long celebration draws together the elements of western culture, music and fashion that have long been part of the Wrangler spirit.
Wrangler kicks off its celebratory year with the launch of its Spring Summer 2022 75th anniversary capsule collection. The feel is confident, free and fresh. Tees, hoodies and trackpants are given a striking special-edition logo, and the palette is strong, featuring deep shades of red, yellow and blue. Wrangler’s archetypal denim shirts and jackets bring classic vibes.
Playfulness and sunny optimism come to women’s printed denim, with ice- cream stripes on straight-leg Wild West jeans and bold checks on the flared silhouette Wrock fit. A denim duvet jacket brings transitional seasonal style, while A-line denim shorts bring a glimpse of summer. For men the anti-fit jacket – featuring dropped shoulders and amplified sleeves – creates an oversized, modern feel.
Launching ahead of the new mainline collection, this anniversary capsule gives a preview of Wrangler’s direction for Spring Summer 22, which features a soft, relaxed mood, and an upbeat palette that speaks of feel good vibes.
