Minelli knows exactly what she’s doing, and Mixed Feelings (Opening Season) proves it. The Romanian singer-songwriter’s latest release is a fierce dance-pop record that’s not just built for the club; it’s designed to shake up the charts.

This is the first chapter of a two-part album project to wrap this fall. With it, Minelli kicks off an ambitious narrative arc that blends infectious beats with raw, introspective lyrics. She brings an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Nigerian-Romanian artist Tobi Ibitoye, American duo R. City, and reggaeton hitmaker Guaynaa.
The album opens with Thoughts, a spoken-word monologue that runs just under a minute and a half. In it, Minelli reflects on fame, success, and the strange emptiness that can follow the realisation of long-held dreams. It’s a moment of calm before the storm—and a powerful one.
Next up is Bus Station, a bold, unapologetic anthem dripping with electronic swagger. It’s the kind of track that declares freedom and joy on the dance floor, perfectly setting the tone for what’s to come. Minelli isn’t making excuses here; she’s opening a window into her truth and inviting us in.
The energy stays high with Bug a Boo and Disturbia (featuring R. City), both of which keep feet moving and pulses racing. These songs showcase a seamless blend of dance-pop and hip-hop, paired with fearless lyrics that push boundaries without losing the groove.
Then comes Over’n Over, a deeper, more contemplative cut exploring themes of identity, darkness, and light. Minelli pulls listeners into a reflective headspace before cranking the energy back up with Alien, a vibrant collaboration with Tobi Ibitoye that’s bound to light up dance floors worldwide.

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, RiTiTi surprises with a fresh twist. Teaming up with Puerto Rican urban star Guaynaa, Minelli sings fluently in Spanish, delivering a reggaeton-flavoured track that could easily earn her a spot in the Latin pop market.
The record closes on a high note with the title track Mixed Feelings, a personal and emotionally rich finale that hints at the stories still to come in the album’s second part.
Minelli has spent over a decade building a rock-solid career. First writing songs for some of Romania’s biggest names and later stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist capable of topping international charts with hits like Mariola, MMM, and the global smash Rampampam, which shattered borders and earned her millions of streams.
But her achievements aren’t just measured in numbers, though they’re staggering: over 1 billion streams on Spotify and 2.5 billion views on YouTube. Minelli has performed on massive festival stages, toured North America, and even became one of the faces of Spotify’s EQUAL campaign, lighting up one of the world’s most iconic billboards: Times Square.
Mixed Feelings (Opening Season) is an emotional journey. Each track is a bold statement of both sound and soul. And Minelli, with her trademark versatility, makes every song feel fresh and personal while staying true to the story she’s telling. In a pop world often driven by trends and throwaways, she offers something much more rare and lasting: a clear artistic vision, a voice with purpose, and a record that demands to be danced to, replayed, and truly felt.
