We are excited to introduce Swiss artist e-garbage to our mixtape series! e-garbage’s music is characterized by a dynamic blend of techno, shaped by diverse influences he has explored through live performances, DJ sets, albums, and EPs. His passion for music, particularly in the realm of electronica, drives his innovative “Do It Yourself” approach, as he seamlessly integrates a variety of instruments crafted from recycled materials into his live shows, infusing a distinctive character into his soundscapes. This deep connection between creating handcrafted musical instruments and production ensures that each sound is uniquely tailored.
While techno remains the core of his artistry, e-garbage’s work is also enriched by an array of influences, spanning Industrial, Dark Synth, Noise, Break, Bass Music, and Coldwave genres. His extensive experiences in clubs and raves have profoundly shaped his production style, leading him to understand that the essence of a sonic journey, along with the emotions it evokes, transcends mere technical proficiency. Ultimately, his mission is to provide listeners with the opportunity to lose themselves in a captivating stationary journey, a distinctive experience that only electronic music can truly deliver.
“I have been playing this live set for the past few months during my gigs, adapting it to each venue and to each vibe. I really love to play live sets in a very adaptative way in terms of structure and tempo, improvising every time in a different way how I arrange all the MIDI clips prepared beforehand. The setup is pretty simple with one big sampler (Akai Force) and a small synth (Arturia Microfreak) and some DIY effects and a mini synth in tin cans, I am trying to have as much homemade samples as possible, and keep everything super simple to be more creative on stage (less possibilities, more creativity)”
