Mixtape: taigangel

We are thrilled to announce that the innovative taigangel is the next artist to contribute to our mixtape series. As an interdisciplinary artist, taigangel seamlessly blends sounds and materials, traversing the spectrum from organic to synthetic. This unique approach invites listeners to experience a profound exploration of energy and its various states of materiality.

taigangel’s work is a deep investigation into the complexities of human interaction with systems that both embrace and neutralize environmental toxicity. By challenging our perceptions and invoking a sensorial awakening, taigangel leads us into what they describe as a “rupture of reality.” This concept provokes a rich meditation on integration, expansiveness, and transformation, fundamentally altering our auditory experience.

Their sounds provide a rare glimpse beyond the limits of what seems physically possible. Each composition invites you to immerse yourself in a tapestry of soundscapes that resonate deeply with our collective consciousness, creating an evocative atmosphere that both comforts and confronts. Prepare to be captivated by taigangel’s artistry as we delve into a new dimension of sonic exploration in our mixtape series.

“I get a lot of inspiration in this place i call “blink dream”. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like a flow state where i can be totally immersed in inner vision. When i close my eyes it kicks in and the space becomes clear, just a primordial calm and oneness. That was the moment i got to meet the spirit of the record.

A week later i took my friend David to drown cave of the witches. It’s a natural limestone cave that’s over 400 million years old and only a couple hours from where i live. It feels exactly like the primeness in my vision: water, stone and all-consuming darkness inside. I’m fascinated with caves on a geologic and mythopoetic level. The grandiosity of time is on display, as well as the hermitic inversion of the cosmos laid underground. As above so below. As within so without. We must first plumb the depths in order to reach ever higher into the heavens. This mix was born out of a psychic death that took going into my own cave in order to find the expanding universe within.”
