#MondayMood Ben Bix Ft Nevvv & Little O – Goodnight Sexy People

Dublin’s music scene is undergoing a vibrant transformation amidst a wave of venue closures, pushing artists into unconventional spaces like art galleries, cafes, and stores. This shift has sparked a fusion of genres, bridging different communities in a rapidly evolving landscape. Despite the fast-paced changes confronting young creatives, artists such as Dublin’s own Ben Bix are thriving, inspired by a collaborative ethos deeply rooted in the city’s DIY culture.

Ben, whose background spans theatre, live production, and performing with his band Meltybrains?, has developed a keen interest in production, drawing parallels between the collective creativity of band writing and the precision of computer-generated music. Though he is branching out into solo projects, collaboration remains at the heart of his work, effortlessly blending solo DJ performances with his new band, which hits the road later this year. This ensemble—featuring live synths, a drummer, percussionist, and guest vocalists—captures the kinetic energy of a live show while channelling Ben’s artistic vision.

His new single, “Goodnight Sexy People,” is a testament to this collaborative spirit. The track features contributions from his longtime friend Little O, alongside Nevvv and St Patrick. What began as an improvisational studio session naturally evolved into a track that radiates gratitude, friendship, and joy.

In collaboration with director Katie O’Halloran and producer Grace Donnery, the music video follows Nevvv on a night out, capturing the spectrum of emotions from eager pre-club moments to introspective walks home. It portrays diverse groups coming together, each unique vibe intertwining on the dance floor, even amidst uncertain times.
