London-based trio White Kite’s haunting new single ‘Devil’s Pact’ dives deep into troubled waters. Part-confession, part-catharsis, the track sees White Kite frontman Louis Shadwick confront the damage done at the end of a long relationship with brutal honesty. In a haunting admission of his isolation and lingering guilt, Shadwick’s fragile vocals soar amidst cascading synth arpeggios, asking himself the question ‘did you forget what it felt like to be alone?’. With lilting guitar and bass melodies from twins Tom and Will Dunning, the trio combine organic and electronic instrumentation to evoke a surreal space in which introspection and melancholy pervade.
