Canada’s cult favourite brand juxtaposes cowboy in the city with their latest S/S20 collection. “Moose Knuckles takes a trip to Cowtown, an affectionate nickname for Calgary, the Alberta city steeped in western culture,” Tu Ly, VP of Design, explains. “Inspired by the Calgary Stampede, one of the world’s largest rodeos, we reinterpreted its rich heritage as the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth for the greatest outwear brand in the nation.”
The grasslands of the Canadian Prairies lend a nostalgic colour palette to a range of lightweight quilted jackets, rainwear seam sealed parkas, and elevated country-influenced pieces. A bleached denim jacket with suede fringe in a dramatic 80s silhouette is a standout for the season, while fitted down jackets are everyday wardrobe staples.
Graphic treatments for the season range from thematic horseshoes to humble eat-your-green broccoli. Exotic python and kangaroo hand-made custom cowboy boots with inlay designs from Alberta Boot Company round up the offerings for the season. The hardworking looks for S/S20 are sealed with Moose Knuckles’ logo-patterned bandanas.
