NATURE BOY, UNDERWEAR REIMAGINED THROUGH ISOLATION

Dominic Albano’s latest pictorial, Nature Boy, features his subject, Rory Cameron, isolated in nature. Solitude by choice is something Albano knows well. The creative director, designer, and photographer behind his namesake clothing brand, DOMINIC ALBANO COLLECTION, finds comfort in reclusion, and feels most himself in those moments. “I’ve always been able to entertain myself,” Albano says. “That’s what the photos are about, being content in the world you create when you’re alone.”

Shot on film and Polaroid in Malibu, Nature Boy pulls inspiration from Juergen Teller’s Go-Sees and Bruce Weber’s Bear Pond, documenting the intersection of solitude and identity, where nature becomes both setting and collaborator. Pieces from Albano’s underwear line are re-photographed in a new context, exploring the tension between play, self, and exposure.
