Siri Majaroen is a fashion and costume designer from Thailand, who grew up in Germany. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Siri’s creations seamlessly blend traditional craftsmanship and contemporary storytelling, consistently pushing the boundaries of what fashion design can be. Her work serves as a platform for exploring pressing social issues and advocating for sustainability.

Her collection “2001” aims to foster open conversation around sexual expression and promote sex education through its designs. 2001 holds meaning to the designer as this was the year she moved from Thailand to Germany and was exposed to a very different outlook on sexuality and nudity. Siri’s designs are a way of bringing the internal, the emotional, and the taboo to the forefront. To create a circular textile chain, she developed a technique that converts old garments into fabric yardage again.

Used underwear and tights were transformed into avant-garde monochromatic looks with a
haptic focus through their textile innovation and embroidery. Siri Majaroen was invited by Christiane Arp to showcase her latest designs at “Der Berliner Salon”, a group exhibition, which took place at the Crown Prince’s Palace (Kronprinzenpalais), Berlin. This event was part of Berlin Fashion Week.
