When the lights are out, we enter a blurry world. Everyone can be who they want to be. Hyperreal pleasure, extreme ecstasy, and immense danger find their rhythm and release. It is a rollercoaster of feelings where power and ecstasy walk hand in hand with insecurities, anxiety, and depression. French philosopher Michel Foucault, in Utopian Bodies, describes nighttime as when “the body is torn away from its proper space and projected into another space.”
