Nilipek, the Turkish singer-songwriter who has made Berlin her home, is set to light up stages across Germany. Since the release of her debut studio album in 2015, Nilipek has captured the hearts and ears of audiences, supporting notable acts like Angel Olsen, Oh Land, Tamino, and Lucy Rose along the way. Her first album, Sabah, received critical acclaim, earning a spot as one of the best albums of 2015 and establishing her as a significant voice in the Turkish alternative music scene with her distinctive arrangements and vocal style.
Nilipek’s journey continued with her follow-up albums, Döngü (2017) and Mektuplar (2020), which explored louder sounds and innovative storytelling techniques. Her radical cover of the Turkish classic Gözleri Aşka Gülen has since become iconic in its own right. Recently, she collaborated with Oscar Anton on a heartwarming track for his international postcard series. Nilipek’s music intricately weaves complex emotions with poetic Turkish lyrics, delivered through her gentle voice over minimalist, yet captivating arrangements.
After a four-year hiatus following the release of her third album Mektuplar in 2020, during which she focused on special projects and collaborations, the influential artist proudly announces the vinyl release of her fourth album, Uydurdugumuz Oyunlarla, set to drop on January 31 via Rumi Records. The album features 11 tracks penned by Nilipek, co-produced with Berkay Kücükbaslar and Taner Yucel.
