A KALTBLUT exclusive. Photography by Sofia Luz. Styling by Rita Batlle. Makeup by Julia Masferrer. The model is Mariana. Set design by Andrea Monclús. “Now You See Me” draws inspiration from the book of the same name and establishes a visual dialogue with the symbolic codes of lesbian identity. It honours those who have resisted restrictive gender norms and asserted their right to self-expression, confronting both historical and contemporary forms of social and legal constraint.
The editorial stands as an ode to resilience and visibility, weaving together past struggles with present manifestations of identity, while celebrating the enduring beauty of authenticity.
Sofia Luz is a Brazilian fashion and advertising photographer based in Barcelona. Her work brings a queer perspective, using representation to open new horizons and imagine possible futures. Believing in fashion and advertising as tools for social change, she experiments to craft a disruptive and confrontational visual language. Her images give visibility to diverse identities and narratives, challenging norms while sparking reflection and dialogue. Each editorial invites viewers to rethink patterns, celebrate diversity, and experience a bold, meaningful vision.
