off grid cowboy

A KALTBLUT exclusive. Photography by Michelle Jekel. Styling by Kathrin Reichelt. Set in the quiet, wide landscapes of Brandenburg, the story explores the intersection of authentic cowboy culture and high-fashion aesthetics. It stars Karam, a Syrian-born cowboy who learned his craft on ranches across Canada and South America. Conceptually, the editorial plays with the contrast between softness and fierceness – blending traditional western codes with delicate, contrasting fashion elements. It balances moments of calm, intimate stillness with raw, unpolished strength, creating a modern, grounded narrative about identity and freedom.

This project was shot as a mixed-media editorial, combining still photography with moving images. The motion elements capture the setting’s fluid atmosphere, texture, and movement, adding depth to the visual story.
