Ankathie Koi hates the way you chew and it gets the 80s right on her debut album release. In cooperation with Producer Patrick Pulsinger and Beni Brachtel and her live and studio collaborator Powernerd Paddy, Ankathie Koi, made sure that ‘I Hate The Way You Chew’ is packed full of 80s disco inspired beats. Her vocal verve meets the quirkiness of B52s with expressive power of Kate Bush and is touched with Fleetwood Mac’s romantic drama.
Ankathie Koi comes from Upper Bavaria and lives and works in Vienna. She created an exceptional sound aesthetic with her band Fijuka, which she remains true to – sometimes more, sometimes less – with her solo project.
Her unique voice, playfully reaching several octaves, can stand up well to international pop divas, and also be heard on cooperation projects with Black Palms Orchestra or Powernerd. In 2016 she
co-curated Vienna’s Popfest. Her solo debut EP ‘Sticky Fins’ (2014) is followed by ‘I Hate The Way You Chew’, is a shiny quirky ball of wonder that sums up her extensive activities of the last year.
