#SundaySound – After the release of “Man dan ga”, the rising star of the underground scene presents the second release of his mixtape ”APO0€AL1P$¡”. This second release is made up of 7 songs, among which stands out the single Apocalipsi in collaboration with none other than La Zowi. linktr.ee/leitisene
This single also has a really powerful music video, about which the director Jordi Lops comments:
The challenge was to find the balance between the apocalyptic and the elegant, creating a new aesthetic line, just as the project requested: apocalyptic art. Without forgetting the rhythm and movement that precedes and characterizes our last music videos with Leïti, we enter into our series of fictional short films that force us to add codes and ways of cinema. Artasans is the new collective of directors we have created, and with this piece, we officially went out into the world.
The song breathes afrobeat, amapiano and dancehall, which as Leïti has previously explained, is part of this change of register in which he is embarking on creating his own sound. It is worth mentioning that 5 of the tracks included in this new release were recorded in the USA where he finished defining this new sound that he is presenting to us.
This year has been full of successes for the artist both on a personal level with his recent paternity with Sita Abellán, and on a professional level where in this last year, in addition to the release of his mixtape, he has been able to play at festivals such as Rolling Loud, Mad Cool, Cruïlla, Riverland, Holika, among others.
In relation to the single Apocalipsi, Leïti comments…
“Apocalipsi with La Zowi is the second release and it’s basically the most digestive part of the album, the one that is more for all audiences, but talking about the main track. This is the first track we did during the trip to the USA, and it’s the one that basically defines the name of the album and the whole idea.
APOCALIPSI means revelation. It doesn’t mean the end of the world, but that moment in which the human being will realize all the deception he has been living through crises, disasters, etc.
It is with La Zowi because for me she is the most apocalyptic character in Spain, in a good way. I think that the theme is perfect: with a mostly African rhythm, with percussions of the amapiano that comes from that African rhythm, but always with our electric and new touch, which I think is quite unique.”
Do not lose sight of the artist Leïti Sene because he has come to revolutionize the musical paradigm.
