Queens by Abbey Sacks

Abbey Sacks is a queer filmmaker, photographer, and artist based in the Seattle area. “Queens” is a documentary that explores the artistry and stories of four different Seattle-based drag queens. Sacks wanted to have conversations about why these artists do what they do, and how drag plays meaningful roles in their lives. It began as a final project for her Queer Studies class and naturally evolved into something larger after the class ended. Each queen opened up in their own way, whether that was through sharing childhood stories, performing to their favorite songs, or showing special costumes and wigs around their homes.
