Hauntology by Rave Review is a subtle homage to the formative experiences of youthful exploration. This season, the brand brings a fresh perspective to the act of uncovering long-forgotten, yet cherished articles tucked away in the corners of one’s ancestral closet, merging the allure of the past with contemporary style sensibilities. Named after Mark Fisher’s conceptual exploration of hauntology, the line delves into the interplay of past and present, presenting garments as tactile mosaics of recollection teeming with the resonance of bygone times.

Crafted from eco-conscious upcycled materials, the collection draws silhouette inspiration from historical fashion epochs, blending effortlessly across the vintage backdrop of the 1960s and the early millennium’s Y2K vibe, the narrative threading through time where the essence of history softens and where nostalgia serves as a spectral reminder of the what-ifs left behind. The designs boldly reinterpret classic tartans, argyles, and eye-catching leopard patterns, masterfully disassembling and reimagining them into fresh, novel forms.
Embodying a concept of disheveled elegance, this collection reworks traditional and structured shapes into the unexpected. This orchestrated chaos manifests in punk-infused, half-done yet meticulously refined assemblages, presenting an air of rebellious sophistication.
Within the collection, prints diverge and converge, a dance of contrasts—sheer organza juxtaposed against dense woolens, unified under a palette reminiscent of shadow and time’s imprint. The collaboration with Happy Socks LAB breathes new life into sidelined socks and samples, injecting vibrancy across the range’s accessories, from socks to leg warmers.
The line signifies not only a retrospective glance but also introspective clarity for Rave Review, a poignant chapter that channels the brand’s soul by delving deeply into its own narrative. Echoing the rite of passage often seen in adolescence—where one dresses in vintage finds to carve out an identity—this season marks a pivotal point for Rave Review as it transitions into a more nuanced and self-assured phase, celebrating the unconventional beauty in its maturation.
