Razor Braids Return with Queer Garage Rock Single: ‘She’

Razor Braids are back with a burst of energy in their latest single, ‘She’. This upbeat track embodies the essence of queer garage rock and is now available on most streaming platforms. Alongside the release of this fresh new single, the band kicks off their headlining tour tonight, culminating in an exhilarating homecoming show with Big Girl at NYC’s Baby’s All Right.

With catchy pop melodies infused with punk influences, ‘She’ serves as the debut single from Razor Braids’ upcoming project, set to be announced in early 2024. Recorded at Paper Moon Studios with collaborators Jeremy Given and Jake Cheriff, this track offers a formal introduction to the cathartic yet emotional ethos that lies ahead for the band.

Drawing inspiration from 90’s icons like The Cranberries, Liz Phair, and Alanis Morissette, ‘She’ exudes the flair and energy of that era. The song is about fearlessly embracing love and taking a chance on it. It serves as a powerful dose of courage for those in need. With its addictive gang vocals and irresistible appeal, this track is the epitome of 90’s-infused garage rock.

Accompanying the single is an enthralling music video where Razor Braids invites viewers to experience their legendary party. This visual masterpiece captures both the outrageousness of a wild celebration and the spontaneity and excitement of queer love.

When discussing the inspiration behind ‘She’, lead singer Hollye Bynum shares the following sentiments:

“It’s a song about being present when you meet someone really special: you don’t want to think about what happens tomorrow or what happened in past relationships, because when you look at her you just get to be in the moment”.

Based in Brooklyn, Razor Braids has already made waves in the music scene, having performed at Boston Calling as an opening act for The National and Foo Fighters. ‘She’ follows the double release of the original track ‘Nashville, Again’ and a delicate and dreamy rendition of the Weezer classic ‘Buddy Holly’, both of which garnered attention earlier this year.
