Rickstar’s musical roots run deep, nurtured during his childhood spent with his grandparents in the vibrant streets of New York City. It was there that he first discovered his love for music, inspired by Motown legends such as Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Prince. These influential artists fueled his passion for performance, leading him to follow in the footsteps of his talented family, which includes Jamaican dancehall musician Mr Vegas and notable reggae musician and producer Leroy Sibbles.

After honing his craft and establishing himself in Los Angeles, Rickstar embarked on a transformative artistic journey, experimenting with an eclectic sound that melds funk, pop, rock, and dancehall. His education at Mathew Knowles’ (father of Beyoncé) prestigious college in London proved invaluable. There, he had the privilege of meeting Knowles, who recognised Rickstar’s artistic vision and encouraged him to pursue his music career with tenacity.
Rockstar features collaborations with Grammy-nominated producers like Yonni, known for his work with heavyweights such as Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Trey Songz. The album also showcases the talents of American producers like Benny Wond3r, Gerard, and B Barber. Released by Sony on September 27th, with a deluxe edition out since November 10th, the album features a fresh remix of “Knight Rider” that includes choreography by Beyoncé’s long-time collaborator, Jonte Moaning.

At its core, Rockstar is a bold declaration of defiance against the confines of traditional rockstar stereotypes, championing rebellion in both music and fashion. With this album, Rickstar not only elevates his artistry but also cements his status as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Keep an eye on this rising star as he takes the music world by storm!
