An essential masterpiece of the 2020s, “LUX” is set to change the musical landscape forever, solidifying ROSALÍA’s legacy as one of the most important artists of our generation.
Critics have already hailed “LUX” as a monumental work: Rolling Stone awarded it 5 stars, describing it as “her most astonishing work to date, filled with history and decades of training that allow her to weave classical sounds, operatic references, and 13 different languages into a beautiful, poignant masterpiece that feels truly timeless.”
The Associated Press labelled “LUX” a “phonetic wonder,” stating: “If there is an avant-garde saving grace in the pop music landscape, it is here,” giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. NPR declared: “On LUX, ROSALÍA pulls the whole world into her symphony,” adding, “Here, the mortal and the divine are in dialogue – and with ROSALÍA as our guide, we can touch both.”
Introducing “LUX” was the grand orchestral centrepiece “Berghain,” a video produced by CANADA and directed by longtime collaborator Nicolás Méndez, who is known for his work on Malamente, TKN, and Pienso En Tu Mirá. Filmed in Warsaw, Poland, the narrative follows a woman grappling with grief as she attempts to heal her broken heart, ultimately finding solace and restoration through spirituality.
