A KALTBLUT exclusive starring Ruby Blue. Louis Kerckhof is a visual artist based in Belgium. He is best known for his portrait and fashion photography. Among other things, he identifies himself as gay and struggled with this at a young age. Therefore identity, gender, and queer are recurring themes in his work and he is driven to photograph social changes in society that are also related to these themes.
For his latest shoot he worked with drag queen legend from Brussels Ruby Blue. Ruby was always fascinated by a black widow from the Victorian Era and found it so fierce and fashion. It is her favourite era when it comes to funeral fashion and she has been dreaming of this shoot for years. They were both inspired by black widow photos from the end of the 19th century that they both found so haunting.
