“I’ve been photographing for 5 years, and in 5 years I try to understand and find the feeling that most intrigues me when looking at a photo I appreciate. Atmosphere. When producing an image, it is the same feeling that I want to bring to it. It’s like there’s an air in the picture, a energy, a spectrum, and you can feel it, but there’s no specific feeling, it’s not sadness, it’s not happiness. Perhaps fear and distress. It’s the weight of a sensation or feeling above you, something that exists and that affects you, but you don’t know what it is. It’s an atmosphere.

I worked 3 years with audiovisual at a university. I navigated through different materials and techniques, which despite having worked for a specific niche, when I resigned and decided to concentrate on my own stuff, I realized that what I had learned with these different techniques, now opened up a letter of infinite possibilities for how I could produce my own material and my own image. In the middle of the pandemic, I was discovered as a model, and after a while signed, I moved to São Paulo. Having experience working as a model allowed me to look at photography and audiovisual from one more point of view. Today, putting all these experiences together, I feel that I can better materialize the image I want to create and convey, I not only feel the feeling that intrigues me so much in photography, but I feel that I can now better express it.” *Filipe Krug
