Black LipsOn September 9th, Berlin will witness the commanding presence of Black Lips. Renowned for their unapologetic southern-fried sound, their live performances are legendary. With their latest studio album, “Apocalypse Love,” they’ve created an explosive mix of genres that draws from vintage Soviet synths to surreal rock narratives. Singer and saxophonist Zumi Rosow explains, “It’s a weird dance record, one that reflects the moment that the world’s in right now,” perfectly encapsulating the essence of a band that has continually challenged the norms of rock ‘n’ roll.

Adding to this exciting lineup, Jaguar No Me was born in Berlin in 2016. Formed by Taishi, who previously played bass for Fat White Family, this group is redefining European music by weaving in elements of Japanese Kayo (Pop from the ’60s to 80s). With the inclusion of Shamisen player Shiomi Kawaguchi, their sound is evolving into a compelling fusion of traditional and experimental Japanese music, accompanied by a vibrant performance style that guarantees a fun experience for all audiences.
Completing the night will be Diamante Negro, a pop sensation from Barcelona. Since their formation in 2018, they’ve released impactful EPs and albums that showcase their growth as artists, with standout tracks like “If You Leave” and the recent release “La Náusea.” Their music embodies a blend of catchy melodies and relatable lyrics, making them a must-see at this event.
