Sound Of The Week: Strath

Australian DJ, producer, and solo artist Strath drops his captivating new EP I Thought It Would Never End. Following his acclaimed 2023 debut I Can’t Do This Without You, this latest endeavour consists of six mesmerizing tracks, each brimming with synth-driven dance melodies, delivering storytelling with a depth that’s rare for the genre.

Strath elevates his already refined production craftsmanship with I Thought It Would Never End, diving into an intricate and psychedelic auditory experience. The EP rewards listeners with nuanced layers and sounds, making each replay a fresh adventure.

Despite originating from the Melbourne music scene, Strath’s career sparked in LA, working with talents like Channel Tres and PawPaw Rod. Now residing in London, Strath has immersed himself in personal artistry, revealing a whimsical approach to engaging his audience with a theme-park-inspired campaign for the EP. He invites fans to sign a disclaimer (“By agreeing to ride, I also agree to a lot of other vague stuff, not outlined here or anywhere. I acknowledge I’m able. I’m willing. I’m ready to ride.”) – Strath is firing up ready to unleash I Thought It Would Never End upon the world.

Discussing the EP, Strath says: I Thought It Would Never End’ is a loosely conceptual EP that’s designed to take you down a surreal rollercoaster ride. Though the music is dance-forward, I never want the constraints of club structure to override the chance to tell a story, which is my real passion. Toeing this line is where most of my thoughts and efforts go towards. I want people to get lost in this world the same way I did. But be careful, because like myself, you’ll almost certainly exit a different person from the one who entered.

I Thought It Would Never End is out 29th March on Godmode, the LA-based music company behind artists such as Channel Tres, SG Lewis and Yaeji.
