Sound of the Week: Tom Odell – A Wonderful Life

Tom Odell released his new album, “A Wonderful Life,” today on September 5, 2025, via UROK/Virgin. The album was recorded in London and comprises ten tracks, including the introductory track and opener, “Don’t Let Me Go. Coinciding with the album announcement, Odell has shared a new single, “Don’t Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder.” This guitar-driven track is described as a cinematic lullaby, showcasing Odell’s characteristic anthemic style, expected to resonate with live audiences.

The single explores the theme of supporting a friend in times of struggle and exemplifies Odell’s notable songwriting skills. The album itself addresses the complexities of human existence, capturing a blend of honesty and emotional intricacies. Odell remarks, “I wish I could wrap it up into a nice little bow of what the mood and the message are, but these songs are the antithesis of that.”

In conjunction with the album, Tom Odell will embark on a 27-date arena tour across the UK and Europe, which includes a performance at London’s O2 Arena on October 29. Pre-orders for the album are available through Tom’s webstore, providing fans with early access to tickets.

Odell is also set to perform at Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2025 in Sefton Park, Liverpool and has recently supported Billie Eilish on her European tour. His intimate headline tour will kick off in July, culminating with dates in North America in September.

Notably, Tom Odell’s 2012 hit “Another Love” has surged in popularity, recently entering the top 50 on the Billboard TikTok chart and resonating with audiences through various social movements. The track has surpassed 3 billion streams on Spotify, highlighting Odell’s significant impact on the music industry and culture.

“A Wonderful Life” is shaping up to be a compelling addition to Tom Odell’s discography, affirming his place as a leading figure in contemporary music.
