Inspired by Juan José Saer’s novel “The Witness,” “The Hunger” delves into the surreal encounters of the early Europeans with the anthropophagous native people in the “Rio de la Plata” region of South America during the 16th century. Through the eyes of a nameless narrator who survives among the native Colastiné community, this performance explores his observations and reflections on his time with the tribe.
A Must-Go Event for All Berliners
Constanza Macras takes us further, weaving these anthropophagous rituals with contemporary themes of capitalism’s voracity, the hyper-production culture of today’s digital platforms, and the constant consumption of our own intimacy and private spheres. Does reality only exist when someone is there to observe it?
