A KALTBLUT exclusive. Creative direction and fashion styling Brett Bowen. Photography by Alain Pottier. Model is Wanya Greeeves. Hair & Make up by Kahlii Morrison.
“The concept behind this shoot was within my own experience growing up gay in Australia and deemed more as a feminine male. Wanya, who is the model, identifies as non binary and a person of color. This fashion editorial explores the experience of both stylist and model being within the LGBTQIA+ community . Title of the work is Bloom. Finding one’s season through resilience to fully grow and to blossom into one’s true self despite one’s environment.
The fashion explores menswear tailoring the patriarch and armor of masculinity. The corset and harness are symbols of restriction, holding onto something so tight causing pain discomfort that makes you walk and act in a particular style.
The gold armor neck piece and pearl earrings represent the shell / amour protecting the pearl deep within one’s true self.
The pink represents feminine energy, self love, strength and acceptance.
The images are mostly in black and white representing views in society and social norms as through the story color starts to emerge and finds it’s season to bloom.”
