Their partnership with Primavera Sound is a match made in heaven—both brands are dedicated to pushing boundaries and exploring uncharted territories in their respective fields.
The Cupra Stage became our favourite spot, pulsating with energy and creativity, showcasing artists who thrilled us to our core. Zaho de Sagazan dazzled us with her artistry, one of the best concerts we have ever seen at Primavera Sound, Amaia captivated our hearts with her music, and we can’t help but keep an eye on Xenia, our “one to watch” for the future.

XENIABut the undeniable queen of Primavera Sound this year was none other than Chappell Roan, who ignited the stage with an electrifying performance that left everyone in awe. She came, she slayed, and she burned down the house!
FKA Twigs, a beacon of innovative artistry, kicked off the festival with a striking performance that was anything but conventional. Standing on a seemingly simple metal scaffolding, FKA Twigs created a transcendent experience that positioned her as one of contemporary pop’s most unique figures.
With a narrative-driven structure, her set transformed the Estrella Damm stage into a realm where dance, voice, and minimalism fused into a powerful spectacle. From melodious numbers like Home With You to dramatic sword choreography in Numbers, she left us breathless with her boundless creativity.

Her charisma and ability to engage the crowd reached a crescendo during She Plays Bass, creating a magical connection that resonated throughout the venue. This evening of high energy continued with IDLES’ performance, which was an exhilarating testament to the power of community and shared ideology, highlighted by their passionate anthem Danny Nedelko.
As the sun set, we witnessed one of the festival’s most anticipated moments — the exclusive European performance of SWEAT, featuring Charli XCX and Troye Sivan.
Celebrating his 30th birthday on stage, Sivan delivered a scorching set, merging choreography and a vibrant atmosphere, while Charli XCX brought down the house with high-energy classics from her Brat era, including a surprise appearance from Chappell Roan during their finale.
Friday shone brightly with a plethora of projects led by women, including the dazzling presence of Ikura from YOASOBI, whose vibrant performance transported us straight into the world of anime-themed soundscapes. Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice graced the Estrella Damm stage, teasing fans with the upcoming album and kicking the rock vibes up a notch.
The culmination of this remarkable journey was Chappell Roan, whose concert was the epitome of theatrical pop fantasy. With a stunning gothic castle backdrop, she strolled onto the stage like royalty, executing flawless numbers enriched with emotion and precision. The Midwest Princess didn’t just entertain; she engaged and uplifted her audience, proving that pleasure is never guilty, especially when paired with infectious hits like Red Wine Supernova and the climactic Pink Pony Club.
For Primavera Sound 2025, the celebration was not simply about music but a bold statement of female empowerment and artistic expression.
