The avant-garde pop provocateur Cobrah bursts onto the scene once again with her electrifying new single “Torn,” heralding the dawn of a vibrant new era. This captivating track marries Cobrah’s ethereal, soaring vocals with hypnotic production. It begins with a haunting introduction, wrapping listeners in a darkly cinematic soundscape, only to explode into an exhilarating club crescendo. In Cobrah’s own words, “‘Torn’ is the interlude of a new beginning. It’s a captivating and seductive track that sweeps you in just to tear you apart. ‘Torn’ is the beauty in pain, and the opening of my inner self.”
This release comes just in time for her Gag Ball Halloween shows—set to light up New York on October 31st and Los Angeles on November 1st—hinting at what lies ahead as Cobrah expands her singular artistic universe. Additionally, she is slated to make her Coachella debut in 2026.
“Torn” follows an impressive string of high-profile collaborations, including her appearance on Ashnikko’s latest track, “WET,” and an electrifying remix of Pabllo Vittar’s “MEXE,” both currently available.
Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Cobrah’s journey began in Stockholm’s underground fetish scene, where she drew inspiration to create her bold and boundary-pushing pop vision. Her 2019 debut EP, ICON, launched her subversive aesthetic alongside her label, GAGBALL Records. With the breakout hit “IDFKA,” she secured a nomination for Music Video of the Year at the Swedish Grammis. The self-titled COBRAH EP of 2021—praised by NME as “a self-assured slab of sexy, celebratory wonky-pop”—alongside the Grammy-winning SUCCUBUS EP of 2023, solidified her reputation as one of Europe’s most innovative pop artists. Her reimagined project, SUCCUBUS XXXTENDED, featured collaborations with Amanda Lepore, Ayesha Erotica, and VTSS, while her acclaimed Boiler Room set in London showcased her ability to deliver immersive, high-concept performances. Most recently, her single “BRAND NEW BITCH” made its way into Yorgos Lanthimos’ upcoming film, Kinds of Kindness.
Cobrah has also graced the front rows of prestigious fashion shows in New York and Paris, showcasing designers like Dilara Fındıkoğlu, Dion Lee, and Matière Fécale. Her music has been featured in campaigns for illustrious brands including Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Lancôme, and Viktor & Rolf.
With her genre-defying artistry and unforgettable live performances, Cobrah’s latest release serves as a tantalising glimpse into a new project that promises to solidify her standing as one of pop’s most audacious innovators.
