The story of the editorial “UNODUO” revolves around an unconventional couple with otherworldly appearances living in a vintage apartment. The series explores their enigmatic relationship. The blend of weirdness and allure in their surroundings raises questions about human identity and gender. It leaves viewers captivated by the mysterious world they inhabit.

Horse images, ropes and vintage clothes serve as mysterious motives and symbols inviting viewers to interpret their significance within the context of the couple’s relationship. Throughout the series, a delicate tension lingers in the air, hinting at an underlying sense of fetishism. This subtle yet alluring undertone stimulates curiosity and invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of desire and identity. It leaves a lasting impression of a love that pushes the boundaries of the ordinary.

“UNODUO” was brought to life by collaborating with two creative minds: Prinz Basil and Simone Bucio. Prinz Basil is a Swiss artist, photographer, and makeup artist residing in Berlin and joined forces with Simone Bucio, an actress, set designer, and stylist from Mexico City. They met and first worked together during the intense filming of the award-winning movie „Piaffe,” which fostered a lasting connection that transcended borders.

They reunited at a typical house party in a Berlin vintage apartment (the set in the photo series). As the night progressed, ideas flowed, and the concept for “UNODUO” took shape. Their collaboration extended to include Paris-based stylist Manuel Sol Mateo, who aims to create a staged yet effortlessly cinematic visual narrative. The editorial’s distinct aesthetic reflects their love for unconventional fashion and surreal imagery. To bring their vision to life, they collaborated with Berlin-based hair and makeup artist Pablo Barkhan, known for his work in film and fashion.

“UNODUO” is a testament to the synergy of Prinz Basil and Simone Bucio’s creative minds, resulting in a fusion of unique talents and a distinctive visual narrative.
